Participate in the Pre-Dental Society Mentorship Program
Explore on-campus and off-campus service opportunities
Learn about how to volunteer at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic through the Pre-Dental Society
Build leadership skills in organizations i.e. take part in committees for student-run organizations
Start taking prerequisite coursework, such as general biology and chemistry
Make an appointment with the Pre-Health Advisor to discuss coursework and career goals
Attend the Pre-Health Opportunities Fair in January to learn about pre-health opportunities to participate in over the summer and/or over the academic year
Consider shadowing dentists over the summer or participating in summer academic enrichment programs like SMDEP
Research dental schools that you are interested in attending
Attend school visits if they visit Georgia Tech
Go to the Hinman Dental Conference in the spring to learn more about schools
Be aware of additional prerequisite coursework required by different dental schools and plan to take them accordingly
Take a look at the ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools book. Ask the President for access or Pre-Health Advisor.
Begin to prepare for the DAT.
Plan to take the DAT summer before starting your third year, winter break, or late spring/early summer before applying.

Ask for letters of evaluation (LOEs) in the spring to give evaluators enough time to write strong evaluations
Submit all evaluations by June 1st
Attend the Pre-health Application Workshop series in the spring semester

Complete and submit the AADSAS application by July 1st for early application timing
Continue to stay involved in extracurricular activities and leadership roles
Continue taking pre-health prerequisite coursework, such as organic chemistry and synthesis lab
Continue to gain more exposure to dentistry through shadowing experiences and/or school visits, such as the DCG Impressions Event
Consider finding research opportunities if you are interested in research
Meet with the Pre-Health Advisor to make sure you are still staying on track
Attend the Pre-health Opportunities Fair in January again to find more exciting summer opportunities
Complete supplemental applications and submit within 1-2 weeks of receiving them
Attend the Interview Workshop in the fall
Prepare for interview season with mock interviews with the Pre-health Advisor and/or the Communications Lab
Complete financial aid forms for dental school OR consider gap-year opportunities
Attend the Pre-health Opportunities Fair to learn more about gap-year opportunities
Thank your evaluators, mentors, and advisors for their support throughout the process and keep them updated on your progress
